About the Role: This position is perfect for an Enrolled Nurse who thrives in a dynamic, regional healthcare setting. You will play a key role in supporting the Registered Nurse by assessing patient needs, planning and implementing care, and overseeing the work of Assistants in Nursing (AINs) and students. Your proactive approach and commitment to evidence-based practice will be essential in ensuring patient safety and effective risk management within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Registered Nurse in providing person-centred care to patients within the Surgical Unit.
  • Assess individual patient needs, plan and implement appropriate care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.
  • Support and oversee the work of AINs and students, contributing to a collaborative healthcare environment.
  • Ensure patient safety, risk minimisation, and adherence to safe work practices.
  • Maintain responsibility and accountability for your own nursing care, integrating evidence-based practices into your work.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Enrolled Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and a valid practising certificate.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients and team members.
  • Demonstrated experience in nursing care within a healthcare setting, with a solid understanding of the Enrolled Nurse role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of care and adhering to evidence-based practices.
