About the Role

As a Newsagency Assistant at the RAH, you’ll play a key role in delivering friendly, efficient service to patients, staff, and visitors. You’ll assist customers with a wide range of retail products, including newspapers, magazines, snacks, gifts, and The Lott products, all while maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere. Your ability to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of this busy and vital retail outlet.

This is more than just a retail role — your efforts directly support a greater cause. Profits from the RAH Newsagency go to the Royal Adelaide Hospital Research Fund, helping to advance life-changing medical research and improve patient care. So while you’re offering great service and keeping the shelves stocked, you’re also helping make a real difference in people’s lives.

About You

You’re a motivated and customer-focused individual who thrives in a dynamic retail environment. You bring energy, reliability, and a positive attitude to every shift, along with the skills and experience needed to succeed in a fast-paced newsagency setting.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with confidence interacting professionally with both customers and team members

  • Demonstrated experience in retail sales, ideally within a newsagency, including handling stock, cash and The Lott products

  • Self-motivated, organised and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Solid understanding of newsagency operations, including stock display, control and The Lott system
