Duration of the training program: 12 months from 2/2/26 up to 31/1/27
Term of the Contract: 3 Years in line with clause 52 of the Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement
At the end of the training program, CALHN will work with the employee to find a suitable placement within SA Health for the remainder of the 3 year contract

An exciting opportunity is presented for an individual with a genuine interest in Rheumatology. This position is based at one of South Australia's leading Local Health Networks.
About the Role
A multi-faceted role where you will gain a diverse range of experience, you will be responsible for managing the care of all patients allocated to current department in consultation with the responsible Registrars, Consultants, Nurses, and Allied Health professionals.
Able to function effectively within a fast-paced environment, you will maintain a high standard of patient care for inpatients and outpatients and provide an effective and accurate clinical handover of patient care at the change of daily shifts and at the change of a clinical attachment. Furthermore, you will assist with the provision of clinical, teaching, research and administrative commitments.
To be successful for this role, you will have
- Full Registration with the Medical Board of South Australia as a Medical Officer.
- Be registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner
- Clinical experience and competence in the practice of Rheumatology as expected for level of training.
- Successfully completed the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRACP) examination
- and a commitment to providing a quality service to patients and their families.
As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Advanced Trainee will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities
