About the role
As a Pre-Analytical Operational Services Officer, you will play a vital part in ensuring the efficient operation of the Pre-Analytical Services team. Your focus will be on providing exceptional customer service and patient care during phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen management, and related administration tasks. By utilising Laboratory Information Systems and following strict protocols, you will ensure that all samples are collected, prepared, and managed accurately and efficiently.
In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, sorting, and performing preliminary preparation of specimens, ensuring samples are stored and transported under defined conditions. You will enter patient and testing information into laboratory computer systems with a high degree of accuracy, supporting the timely diagnosis and treatment of patients. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in handling both internal and external customer enquiries effectively, contributing to the delivery of a high-standard pathology service.
About You
To excel as a Pre-Analytical Operational Services Officer, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service, collaboration, and accuracy in a healthcare setting.

Experience in paediatric blood collection and data entry will be highly regarded.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to foster a supportive, cooperative environment among staff.

High attention to detail, strong computer skills, reliability, and the ability to prioritise and deliver consistently accurate work.

Sound understanding of confidentiality, infection control, WHS principles, and knowledge of NATA and Laboratory Information Systems.
