Join our Southern Community Mental Health Service as a Mental Health Clinician, where you'll provide specialist assessment, treatment, and crisis intervention for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes across Adelaide's southern metropolitan region. This 0.8 FTE contract position at the Specialist Community Mental Health Service offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, delivering evidence-based care whilst developing your clinical expertise in one of Australia's leading health networks. This position works across a 7 day roster. About the role:
Some of your duties as the Mental Health Clinician involve:
- Undertaking clinical assessments in the community setting for consumers experiencing a mental health related crisis.
- Applying specialist mental health expertise to the development, delivery and continuous improvement of quality clinical work, as well as providing discipline specific assessments and interventions.
- Engaging in a range of therapeutic interventions, for example Safety Planning, Gold Card Clinics and participating in the development and implementation of Towards Zero Suicide pathways.
- Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration and escalating appropriately.
- Working collegially within the multi-disciplinary team, maintaining a consumer focus and implementing best practice initiatives.
About you:
- The successful incumbent will hold one of the following:
- Social Worker - Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Clinical Psychologist - Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia(PsyBA), hold general registration with PsyBA and endorsement as a clinical psychologist/eligibility to participate in the registrar program.
- Occupational Therapist -Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Experience working with people who have mental illness, their families and/or carers.
- Experience in the delivery of care coordination to mental health consumers.
- Ability to work collaboratively with all key stake holder to design individual service plans and coordinate comprehensive service provision including rehabilitation programs from a psychosocial perspective, for consumers who have complex needs
