We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team! 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team in the Rehabilitation Unit within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN). As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a pivotal role in providing and leading comprehensive occupational therapy services to rehabilitation patients. 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Director Occupational Therapy, as the Senior Occupational Therapist duties for the role will include:

  • Offering expert consultation and skills in the management of complex patients, contributing to the overall care and well-being of rehabilitation patients.
  • Providing safe and high-quality occupational therapy services, adhering to best practices and standards.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of consumer participation in service planning and improvement activities.
  • Providing team leadership, expertise in regard to role of rehabilitation units and co-ordination and support to the occupational therapy staff on the unit

About you:

  • Proven experience in providing occupational therapy services to patients with a wide range of illnesses and disabilities, including neurological and amputee patients.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills including the ability to communicate with patients, staff and other agencies, both orally and in writing
  • Clinical experience at a senior level, in an acute health care organisation.
  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia
  • Proven experience in delivering high quality and safe care consistent with the National Safety and Quality Health Care Service Standards
