About the Role:
The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network is seeking Exercise Physiologists to join our dynamic Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Division.

In this role, you'll design and implement evidence-based exercise programs tailored for older adults, rehabilitation patients and those requiring palliative care. You'll work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes, enhance quality of life and support individuals on their healthcare journey. From improving mobility in aged care residents to helping stroke patients regain independence, your expertise will directly transform lives.
Exercise Physiology services are offered across a variety of inpatient, home-based and community settings within the Rehabilitation and Geriatric clinical services based at Modbury with some outreach community work. In this role you will have the opportunity to rotate through a number of clinical services:
- Geriatrics: provision of exercise physiology assessment and treatment for older adults while liaising with their families and carers. This may involve assessment and individualised intervention for deconditioning, frailty, cardiac and orthopaedic rehabilitation. Areas of work include the inpatient Geriatric Rehabilitation ward
- Rehabilitation: provision of exercise physiology assessment and treatment for adults participating in rehabilitation. This may involve assessment and individualised intervention for adults with a range of diagnoses including stroke, progressive neurological conditions, brain injury and deconditioning. Areas within rehabilitation include: the inpatient rehabilitation wards, the Day Rehabilitation Service (6 week rehabilitation program in an outpatient setting) and the Rehabilitation in the Home program
To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification, usually in human movements, inclusive of the exercise physiology elective and eligible for accreditation from Exercise Sports Science Australia (ESSA).
