2026 Liver Transplant Fellowship - Senior Registrar Position at Flinders Medical Centre
This specialised Senior Registrar Fellowship at SA Health's Flinders Medical Centre offers exceptional training in liver transplantation medicine within a leading multidisciplinary team until February 2029. Working 2.5 days per week, you will contribute to life-saving clinical care whilst engaging in cutting-edge research activities that advance the field of liver transplant medicine. About the role:
Reporting to the Director of South Australian Liver Transplant Unit, some of your duties as the Senior Registrar will involve:
- Working as a part of a multidisciplinary academic and clinical Liver Transplant team.
- Contributing to clinical activities and clinical research activities for the Liver Transplant Medicine Unit.
- Involvement with on-call commitments for liver transplant unit.
- Covering remote general surgical on-call demands.
Please note: As per the SMOEA 2022, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12-month allocation as Senior Registrar will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
- Must hold current registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.
- Trainee in final 1-2 years of completion of training general surgical program or Post FRACS Fellowship.
- Clinical experience and competence in the practice of surgery as expected for level of training.
- Research experience and several publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Surgical skills appropriate to level of training.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effective with a wide range of people including colleagues and other professional staff, proficient in written and spoken English.
