Join Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Part-time Nurse Consultant in Acute Geriatric Care and become a clinical leader driving excellence in elderly patient outcomes. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you'll combine advanced clinical expertise with strategic leadership, mentoring staff and implementing evidence-based improvements that directly impact the lives of our most vulnerable patients in Adelaide's southern community.
About the role:
This role will sit with our Residential Care, Outreach Team (RCOT) Duties will include:
- Provide expert clinical consultation and direct patient care in acute geriatric settings, utilising advanced assessment skills to manage complex health conditions in elderly patients
- Lead evidence-based practice improvements and quality initiatives by identifying opportunities for enhanced care delivery and implementing sustainable change strategies
- Mentor and support nursing staff in specialised geriatric care techniques, providing ongoing professional development and guidance to enhance clinical competency
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
- Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training programs to develop, maintain, and enhance the clinical skills and specialised knowledge essential for effective geriatric nursing consultation and leadership.
About you:
- Demonstrated ability in the leadership and facilitation of change management.
- Effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Evidence of additional studies relating to gerontology, dementia, aging, caring for older persons or equivalent.
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
