About the Role
As a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (2G Acute / PICU), you will play a pivotal leadership role within the Eastern Mental Health Division, delivering specialist, evidence-based care to consumers with complex mental health needs. This is an opportunity to provide high-quality clinical services in an environment that values recovery-focused, patient-centred care, supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team.
You will oversee and contribute to the holistic treatment of mental health consumers, actively shaping service delivery through clinical leadership, supervision, and ongoing service improvement. Your role includes providing supervision and guidance to junior doctors and allied health professionals, participating in quality and safety initiatives, and contributing to teaching, research, and strategic planning across the Mental Health Clinical Program. This dynamic position also involves out-of-hours participation in a consultant on-call roster.

Registered Medical Practitioner with specialist registration in Psychiatry (FRANZCP) with AHPRA.

Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and delivering best-practice psychiatric care.

Proven ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to teaching, research, and quality improvement.

National Police Clearance (NPC) which is up to standard
