About the role

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join the team at SA Pathology. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and delivering sourcing activities across a range of acquisition projects. Your expertise will ensure value for money is achieved, contracts deliver on their intended outcomes, and procurement risks are effectively managed, supporting SA Pathology to continue providing trusted, high-quality services to the South Australian community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong procurement expertise along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You’ll be confident in navigating complex projects, building collaborative relationships, and ensuring procurement outcomes deliver value for SA Pathology and the wider community. 

  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing multiple procurement projects, ensuring customer-focused and successful outcomes.

  • Strong ability to influence and engage stakeholders, including senior managers, through clear communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills while maintaining probity requirements.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the end-to-end procurement process, including strategy development, negotiation, contract management, and applying category management principles.

  • Sound knowledge of Australian Contract Law and risk management frameworks, with the ability to design transparent, defensible decision-making processes and apply WHS principles in line with legislative requirements.

SA Pathology is particularly keen to hear from individuals who are well acquainted with leading significant value Government Procurement processes and systems to support the provision of complex equipment and services. The position would suit someone with good attention to detail, possessing a capacity to think critically in a highly technical environment, and who is comfortable in managing multiple priorities to meet business outcomes.
