Overview:
Working to the Presiding Member of the Suicide Prevention Council, and reporting to the Manager, Mental Wellbeing and Suicide Prevention, Preventive Health SA, the Executive Officer provides high-level, confidential administrative and coordination support to ensure the effective operation of the Council.
The Executive Officer is responsible for:
- Maintaining Council records in compliance with legislation and records management policies.
- Facilitating the appointment and induction of new members.
- Ensuring the Presiding Member is well informed of Council business, with timely and appropriate information flow between Preventive Health SA, the Presiding Member, and Council members.
- Supporting the Council to meet its legislative, reporting, and governance obligations, including preparing reports, briefing materials, and coordinating actions on behalf of the Council.
- Leading and managing projects on behalf of the Suicide Prevention Council, including planning, delivery, monitoring, and reporting.
- Providing project management support, including coordination of metropolitan and rural community engagement meetings, cross-government collaboration to deliver the State Suicide Prevention Plan, and analysis of complex information.
- Preparing presentations, reports, and draft material to support strategy, policy, and operational priorities.
This role plays a key part in supporting the Council to achieve its mandate of guiding whole-of-state suicide prevention efforts and strengthening community-led approaches across South Australia.

Criminal History Screening Requirement
- A ‘National Police Certificate’ NPC (also known as a ‘Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check’ NCCHC) for employment involving no contact with vulnerable groups is required for this position (general employment)
