Join Our Team as a Community Services Paramedical Aide – Support Independence and Wellbeing at Home
Are you passionate about helping older adults maintain their independence and wellbeing at home? This role as a Community Services Paramedical Aide allows you to provide high-quality, personalised support to clients under the Commonwealth Home Support Program, making a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
About the Role:
The Community Services Paramedical Aide provides high-quality home-based care to Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) clients, based on the philosophy of supporting individuals in their chosen environment. The role supports clients, their families, advocates, or carers to form the basis of the care plan, utilising expertise and professional judgement to design flexible and appropriate services tailored to each client’s unique needs within CHSP guidelines.
The objectives of the CHSP include:
- Providing high-quality, low-intensity support on a short-term or ongoing basis, or higher-intensity services on a short-term or episodic basis, to frail older people to maximise their independence at home and in the community.
- Supporting clients to delay or avoid the need to move into more intensive forms of aged care, helping maintain sustainability across the aged care system.
- Ensuring equity of access to services for all clients, including culturally and socially appropriate care.
- Delivering services in accordance with quality frameworks, including the Home Care Standards.
- Facilitating client choice to enhance independence, wellbeing, and responsiveness to local needs.
The PCA will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing care that is flexible, timely, and responsive to local community requirements.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience and knowledge in health/aged care and how that relates in the community setting.
- Experience in identifying needs and working closely with clients, families and carers in a multidisciplinary team.
- Proven experience in exercising own judgement and initiative in the day-to-day execution of the position.
- Experience in the use of computer programs e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and CME.

Applicant Information
This is a part time vacancy, working 40 hours per fortnight and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements:
- DHS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Worker Check

- Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A
