About the role
The Senior Mental Health Nurse (Clinical Nurse Consultant) provides clinical mental health nursing expertise for infants, children, adolescents, women and families with mental health issues. This role in partnership with other senior staff is responsible for day-to-day clinical leadership of this team.
Key duties of the role
- Integrate contemporary mental health information and evidence with personal experience to support decision making.
- Assess clients and formulate care/transition/referral plans.
- Provides clinical leadership and mental health expertise within the team.
- Monitor client care transitions and plans to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved and evaluate progress.
Skills and Experience
Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Must hold an approved post graduate mental health nursing (minimum Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Nursing) qualification.
- Registered Nurse with at least 3 years post registration experience.
- Demonstrated competence in delivering proficient and comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and direct clinical services to children, young people and their families
