Research Support Role - Casual Research Assistant

About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role is responsible for but not be limited to, general activities to support the study, including, recruitment of participants, undertaking interviews, survey collection, data management, qualitative data analysis, liaising with research and clinical staff, and preparation of reports and manuscripts. The position will form part of the multi-disciplinary research team and will play a key role in the evaluation of the quality appraisal program, bearing responsibility for project management and administration, and providing assistance with the collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data.
Duties for the role will include:
- Provide high quality, person centred, research assistant care,
- Deliver a high quality, informed research assistant perspective when interacting with cancer survivors, care givers and health practitioners,
- Lead recruitment of unit staff to the research project and assist in cancer survivor participant recruitment,
- Be responsible for complete and timely data collection, entry and management, and to assist with the analysis of the data generated across research project
- Develop knowledge regarding quality improvement tools such as the PDSA (Plan-Do-Study-Act) cycles,
- Participate in ongoing continuous quality improvement activities to promote quality improvement for the research project
About you:
- Ability to work under limited direction, autonomously or as a collaborative member of a team, including an ability to prioritise and effectively manage diverse workloads in order to meet agreed timelines and objectives,
- Excellent organisational and time management skills,
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and consult with a range of stakeholders,
- Excellent written communication skills
- Experience in research management and data analysis,
- Experience in the use and maintenance of data collections using online survey tools, database and qualitative analysis tool,
- Experience in completing administrative tasks under minimal supervision,
- Experience in preparing and presenting the findings of applied research
