About the role

As a Sonographer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services that make a real difference to patient care. Using specialised ultrasound equipment, you will independently perform a wide range of complex procedures, applying your professional expertise and technical skill to produce accurate, detailed results that assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will contribute to a supportive and patient-centred environment where precision, compassion, and professionalism are valued. Your ability to operate with autonomy while maintaining strong communication with clinicians and patients will ensure an exceptional standard of service and uphold the integrity of our imaging department.

About You

We are seeking an experienced and accredited Sonographer who takes pride in delivering high-quality imaging services with professionalism, precision, and empathy. You bring both technical expertise and leadership capability, contributing to a positive team culture and ensuring excellence in patient care and service delivery.

  • Qualified and Accredited: Registered with the Australasian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR) and hold a recognised Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound or equivalent.

  • Experienced and Competent: Demonstrated expertise in performing a full range of standard and complex ultrasound procedures with accuracy and independence.

  • Strong Communicator and Leader: Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate a team to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.

  • Knowledgeable and Professional: In-depth understanding of sonographic practices, PACS systems, and human resource principles, supported by ongoing participation in accredited CPD programs.

South Australia Medical Imaging (SAMI) at the Repat is part the largest public imaging provider in Australia!  With a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional imaging services provided by a multidisciplinary team, SA Medical Imaging provides care to public and private inpatients, outpatients and emergency department patients. We have 6 metropolitan and 4 country locations in South Australian hospitals.
