About the Role:

This is an opportunity to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager within the Forensic Mental Health Service. The Forensic Mental Health Service is a state-wide specialised service which provides assessment, treatment and care services to meet the needs of mental health consumers in the justice system, either forensic consumers placed by the SA court system or prisoners transferred from the Department of Correctional Services.

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will support the delivery of high-quality care to consumers with complex mental health needs in a secure environment. This role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, providing direct support to the Nurse Unit Manager while developing your management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • assist in managing daily operations of the forensic mental health unit
  • provide clinical supervision and support to nursing staff
  • ensure compliance with safety protocols and therapeutic standards
  • collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver person-centred care
  • participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. Must be enrolled in an approved mental health course or hold a qualification in mental health practice.
