About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mental health pharmacist to gain an ongoing position within the CALHN Pharmacy Department. The Senior Pharmacist- Mental Health may rotate across all CALHN sites as a member of the Mental Health team, supported by the Mental Health Team Leader and Deputy Director.
As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services that support safe and effective patient care. You will be responsible for the organisation, management, and operation of your designated pharmacy area, providing expert medicines information, therapeutic advice, and clinical support to patients, medical, nursing, and allied health staff. Your independent and professional judgement will ensure the highest standards of practice are maintained in line with hospital and divisional policies, procedures, and professional guidelines.
In this dynamic and rewarding role, you will contribute to the optimisation of patient outcomes by promoting the safe, evidence-based, and cost-effective use of pharmaceuticals. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to implement strategies that enhance medication safety and quality use of medicines across the hospital, ensuring excellence in clinical practice and continuity of care.
About You
You are an experienced and motivated Pharmacist with a passion for delivering safe, effective, and evidence-based pharmacy services. With strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset, you take pride in driving continuous improvement and ensuring excellence in patient care through sound clinical judgement and professional expertise.

Qualified and Registered: Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and are registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

Experienced and Knowledgeable: Bring extensive hospital pharmacy experience, supported by comprehensive knowledge of professional standards, codes of practice, and clinical service delivery.

Organised and Analytical: Demonstrated ability to research, analyse, and interpret data, manage complex workloads, and meet tight deadlines with precision and attention to detail.

Collaborative Leader: Proven ability to lead, supervise, and educate staff, working effectively within multidisciplinary teams to improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
