You’ll take pride in delivering expert care both independently and as a leader within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a culture of excellence, safety, and respect. Your practice will align with Regional, Hospital and Departmental policies, as well as the professional standards of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists. Additional desirable (but not essential) skills include cardiac anaesthesia, thoracic anaesthesia, and transoesophageal echocardiography expertise.

As a valued member of our department, you’ll play a key role in nurturing the next generation of clinicians through teaching and mentoring trainee medical officers, interns, medical students, and, where appropriate, nursing and allied health professionals. You’ll also be encouraged to engage in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development, with opportunities to participate in research and continuous education. This is a chance to make a genuine impact within a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where your expertise and enthusiasm for patient care are truly valued.

About You

You’re a highly skilled and motivated Consultant Anaesthetist who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to a collaborative, learning-focused clinical environment. With strong professional integrity and a commitment to continuous improvement, you thrive in a team setting and bring both expertise and empathy to everything you do.

  • Qualified and Accredited: You hold specialist qualifications in Anaesthesia, are a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (or equivalent) and are eligible for registration as a Specialist with AHPRA.

  • Clinically Excellent and Committed: You demonstrate advanced clinical skills in anaesthesia, uphold the highest professional standards, and are dedicated to providing high-quality care both during and outside regular hours.

  • Collaborative and Communicative: You have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and engage respectfully with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

  • Engaged and Forward-Thinking: You actively participate in clinical teaching, quality improvement and continuing professional development, with a strong commitment to ongoing learning, adaptability, and innovation in clinical practice.
