Join SA Health as an Emergency Department Education Associate Nurse Unit Manager at Flinders Medical Centre, where you will shape the future of emergency nursing through innovative education and professional development programs. 

About the role: 

As a Nurse Educator in the Emergency Department, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality nursing care while fostering a strong learning culture within the team. You will provide guidance, education, and mentorship to staff as they develop from competent to proficient practitioners, taking accountability for maintaining high practice standards and supporting the professional growth of others. Working collaboratively with the Level 3 Nurse Educator and wider leadership team, you will assist in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of education and training programs, and promote reflective practice and continuous learning to ensure excellence in emergency care.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Ensuring a continuum of staff capability by supporting training and credentialing of mandatory and emergency specific courses and competencies.
  • Working across the spectrum of presentations (children, adults, older people, trauma, mental health).
  • Providing clinical education to address inconsistencies in between practice and polices/procedures.
  • Keeping up to date with professional standards of practice, implementing and monitoring evidence-based care and quality and safety initiatives.

About you:

  • Knowledge and awareness of contemporary issues in Emergency Nursing and Australian Emergency Departments.
  • Effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years, full time equivalent, post registration experience.
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within the healthcare setting.
