Lead Your Career Forward - Senior OT Mental Health Role | Southern Adelaide

As a Senior Occupational Therapist with the Outer South Community Mental Health multi-disciplinary team, you will deliver specialised occupational therapy services to enhance mental health outcomes and functional independence for consumers with complex needs. This experienced clinician role involves providing discipline-specific assessments, interventions and consultancy services while working collaboratively with consumers, families, carers and various government and non-government organisations to support community functioning and tenure. You will take on clinical leadership responsibilities, providing professional supervision to staff and students while contributing to the continuous improvement of quality clinical services within the team and disciplinary group.

About the role: 

Reporting to the Team Manager for Outer South Community Health Mental Health Service and the Principal Occupational Therapist for SALHN Mental Health Services, some of your duties as an AHP3 Senior OT may involve: 

  • Undertaking care coordination of an allocated caseload within evidence-based frameworks.
  • Developing and regularly reviewing care plans in collaboration with consumers and carers, including consumers with complex presentation.
  • Identifying consumer's occupational barriers  to occupational performance and promoting the provision of strengths-based recovery approaches in the delivery of services.

About you:

  • Must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
  • Extensive experience working with people with complex mental health needs. 
  • Clinical experience in the provision of evidence-based mental health Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Experience in the supervision of other Occupational Therapists.
  • Advanced skills in undertaking a comprehensive bio-psychosocial assessment, including mental state and risk assessments of consumers presenting with high or complex needs.
