About the role
As a Lead Pharmacist – Cancer Medication Management Systems, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the safe, effective and future-focused delivery of cancer care across our health network. You’ll take carriage of the governance, configuration and ongoing optimisation of our Cancer Medication Management System, ensuring clinicians have the tools and support they need to provide best-practice treatments. Working closely with pharmacy, medical, nursing and digital health teams, you’ll help create a seamless, reliable and patient-centred digital environment that enhances every stage of the cancer medication journey.
In this senior leadership position, you’ll guide and empower a multidisciplinary team, oversee operational objectives, and champion continuous improvement in clinical support functions. As the organisation’s subject matter expert, you will represent SA Pharmacy and SA Health at state, national and international forums, contributing your expertise to advance electronic chemotherapy medication management. You’re an experienced and forward-thinking pharmacy professional who brings deep expertise in cancer therapeutics, strong leadership capability, and a passion for driving safe and innovative medication management. With a solid foundation in clinical pharmacy and a commitment to high-quality service delivery, you thrive in complex environments and enjoy collaborating with diverse teams to create meaningful, system-level improvements.
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
• Registered Pharmacist with extensive cancer pharmacy experience, supported by a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and eligibility for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
• Proven leadership and management capability, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams, developing staff, and implementing sustainable improvements in service delivery.
• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret data, prepare clear reports, navigate complex challenges, and lead organisational change.
• In-depth knowledge of cancer medication management, including relevant legislation, clinical guidelines, quality standards, and operational experience with Cancer Medication Management Systems.
