About the role
As a Pre-Analytical Operational Services Officer, you’ll play an essential part in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our Pre-Analytical Services team. In this frontline position, you’ll provide compassionate, high-quality customer service to patients while performing a range of duties across phlebotomy, specimen collection, specimen management and administration. You’ll work confidently with Laboratory Information Systems, ensuring every interaction is professional, respectful and focused on patient care.
You’ll be responsible for managing specimens at the pre-analytical stage to support timely diagnosis and treatment, including receiving, sorting and preparing samples, maintaining correct storage and transport conditions, and accurately entering patient and test information into laboratory systems. As a valued member of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will help ensure enquiries are handled promptly and efficiently, contributing to the delivery of high-quality laboratory services that make a real difference to patient outcomes.

Experienced in hospital/pathology settings with sound knowledge of NATA, WHS and infection control.
