About the role
As the Senior Pharmacist in Quality Use of Medicines, you will be playing a pivotal role in championing Quality Use of Medicines including Medication Safety, Antimicrobial Stewardship and Clinical Governance. You’ll provide a comprehensive, high-level range of pharmacy services and use your expert clinical judgement to support safe, effective and patient-centred care. Your role will see you offering confident, autonomous therapeutic advice and medicines information to patients, clinicians, nursing staff and other health professionals, all while upholding hospital policies, divisional procedures and professional standards.
With a strong focus on optimising patient outcomes, you’ll champion strategies that promote the highest standard of quality use of medicines in a safe and cost-effective way. About You
You’ll bring a confident blend of advanced clinical expertise, leadership capability and strong communication skills that enable you to thrive in a complex hospital pharmacy environment.

Hold a Bachelor of Pharmacy (or equivalent) and be registered or eligible for registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia, supported by extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice.

Demonstrate excellent communication and public relations skills, strong organisation and accuracy under pressure, and the ability to work independently, use sound judgement and solve complex problems.

Show proven leadership through supervising, educating and guiding staff, contributing to service improvement initiatives, and applying well-developed research, data analysis and decision-making skills.

Bring a high level of professional and technical competence, with comprehensive knowledge of relevant standards, codes of practice and multidisciplinary teamwork within contemporary pharmacy services.
