Become an Associate Nurse Unit Manager at Port Broughton District Hospital and make a lasting impact on patient care and team leadership.
In this pivotal role, you’ll assist the Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager to lead a dedicated team of nurses and midwives, ensuring high standards of care and a seamless patient experience. You’ll support operational management, foster team development, and contribute to quality improvements in a dynamic healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing and midwifery staff.
- Ensure continuity of care and collaborate on practice changes.
- Assist with recruitment, staffing, performance management, and rostering.
- Support the financial and supplies management for the ward/unit.
- Mentor and supervise less experienced staff, including students.
What we’re looking for:
- Registered Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years’ post-registration experience or classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team, manage workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Innovative, flexible, and creative approach to healthcare challenges.
- Sound knowledge of healthcare standards, quality improvement systems, and relevant legislation.
Port Broughton Hospital
Port Broughton is a 14-bed acute facility with 24/7 emergency department access, ensuring that patients receive timely care at all hours. The hospital is strategically partnered with an adjacent medical practice, which provides essential medical services to both inpatients and those visiting the emergency Department. The hospital provides a range of services including emergency services, general medicine, transitional care program (TCP), palliative care, medical imaging and outpatients.
