About the role
As an Operational Services Officer, you’ll play an important role in supporting the delivery of efficient and reliable laboratory services. Working under general direction, you’ll apply your skills and knowledge to a variety of tasks, including sorting and accessioning specimens in line with established protocols, ensuring accurate data entry, and assisting with preparatory duties, specimen storage and transport. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure that critical processes run smoothly and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the laboratory.
In this role, you’ll also be the first point of contact for both internal and external customers, managing enquiries with professionalism and care. By providing clear communication and dependable support, you’ll help maintain strong working relationships and ensure that client needs are met in a timely and responsive manner. Teamwork and communication – Proven ability to work collaboratively, foster cooperation and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.

Technical capability – Experience using computers, information systems and databases, with knowledge of pathology laboratory operations highly regarded.

Customer service focus – Skilled in managing enquiries with professionalism, demonstrating initiative, and escalating issues appropriately when required.
