Lifestyle Assistant opportunities are available within SALHN Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) and Acute Geriatric Care Units!
Join SA Health as a Lifestyle Assistant where you will support the provision of activities with older patients within the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network's (SALHN) GEM and Acute Geriatric Care Units with the aim to improve the patient's social, emotional, and physiological well-being. There are multiple ongoing Assistant In Nursing (AIN) and Allied Health Assistant (AHA2) roles across the three main SALHN sites - Flinders Medical Centre, Repat Health Precinct and Noarlunga Hospital.

These exciting roles can be undertaken as full-time or part-time and will work across a 7-day roster alongside a multi-disciplinary team and with other lifestyle assistants to enhance the patient's experience.

About the role:
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager (AIN) or Allied Health Manager (AHA), tasks undertaken by lifestyle assistants will mostly focus on supporting patients with dementia and the promotion of individual or group-based activities to maximise the patient's engagement and functioning - socially, spiritually and emotionally. This position will play a crucial role in assisting the multi-disciplinary team in promoting positive experiences for patients with changed behaviours.

About you:
- Experience with interacting with Older Persons, ideally supporting Lifestyle Activities
- Holds a Certificate lll or IV in one of the following health related disciplines, Basic Health care, Aged care, Health Services assistance, Home & Community Care, Individual Support work, Allied Health Assistant
- Enrolled and Studying a Nursing diploma or degree (for AIN role)
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
There are multiple vacancies, with two possible appointment classifications (AIN or AHA2). The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
