About the Role

As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you deliver high-quality nursing care while supporting ward leadership. You help guide the team, strengthen daily operations and ensure safe, consistent care. This role blends hands-on practice with leadership, collaboration and service improvement.

Key duties
• Deliver safe, effective nursing care across varied settings
• Support the Nurse Unit Manager with day-to-day ward leadership
• Guide and develop less experienced nursing staff
• Promote consistent care with ANUM peers and the wider team
• Support practice change and quality improvement
• Assist with rosters, staffing, leave and work allocation
• Contribute to recruitment, performance and attendance processes
• Monitor supplies and support basic budget planning

About You

You are a confident Registered Nurse who brings sound judgement, teamwork and a calm, organised approach. You know how to balance clinical care with leadership support and contribute positively to a busy ward environment.

• Registered or eligible Nurse with NMBA and current practising certificate
• Demonstrated competence aligned to relevant nursing practice standards
• Experience guiding and supporting less experienced nursing staff
• Clear communicator who prioritises, problem solves and works collaboratively
• Working knowledge of ANUM responsibilities and quality improvement systems
