About the role
As a Mobile Radiographer / Mammographer, you’ll play a vital part in delivering high-quality breast screening services to women across metropolitan, rural and remote South Australia. Working from a purpose-built mobile unit, you’ll combine advanced clinical expertise with genuine care and compassion—providing a welcoming, supportive experience while achieving excellent mammographic quality standards. This is a unique opportunity to take your skills on the road, making a meaningful difference to women who may otherwise have limited access to screening services.
Operating with a high level of professional independence, you’ll manage and coordinate the mobile service while in the field, overseeing daily operations, supporting and supervising colleagues, and ensuring the safe care and maintenance of the semi-trailer and onboard digital mammography equipment. You’ll build strong relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders across CALHN and partner organisations, enjoying a varied, autonomous role that blends clinical excellence, leadership and community impact.
About You
You’re a skilled and compassionate mammography professional who brings the capability, confidence and flexibility needed to thrive in this dual-classification role. Whether joining as an AHP3 Mobile Radiographer or a PO3 Mobile Mammographer, you combine strong clinical expertise with a warm, reassuring approach to supporting women through their screening experience.
- Appropriate qualifications for your classification level—either a recognised radiography degree with AHPRA registration (AHP3) or a science degree plus Graduate Diploma in Mammography and SA radiation licensing eligibility (PO3)
- Demonstrated mammography experience, including safe operation and maintenance of equipment, quality assurance procedures and PACS
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support clients sensitively and work collaboratively within a small, mobile multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational, problem-solving and conflict-resolution capability, with the confidence to manage workloads, troubleshoot technical issues and navigate challenging situations professionally
