About the role

The Senior Clinical Psychologist provides advanced clinical care and leadership for children and adolescents with complex mental health needs. The Senior Clinical Psychologist offers expert therapy, supervises psychology staff, and drives service quality, safety, and development within multidisciplinary and interagency teams.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide clinical knowledge and interventions in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Provide assessments including consulting, aiding, and advanced interpretation.
  • Undertake standardised, reliable, and validated psychometric assessments.
  • Undertake the assessment of complex individuals and families’ presentations.
  • Provide written reports in a clear manner that is understood by both consumers and professionals.

Skills and Experience

  • Must hold an appropriate degree in Psychology or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia
  • Must hold general registration with Psychology Board of Australia and be endorsed in clinical psychology
  • Must hold approved supervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia at all levels of supervision (primary and secondary).
  • Clinical experience in the delivery of mental health psychology services to children and adolescents.
  • Ability to carry out psychology assessments and therapeutic interventions of a highly complex nature.
