About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the CAMHS Eating Disorders Service as a Clinician (Psychologist/OT/Social Worker) where you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering specialist child and adolescent mental health care to consumers with a diagnosed eating disorder.
  • The provision of assessment, education, counselling and group work.
  • Undertake discipline specific assessments when required to ensure optimal understanding of the presenting mental health /eating disorder issue.
  • Act as a consultant and resource person to CAMHS, other agencies and the community by providing information and education regarding child, adolescent and family mental health eating disorders.
  • Promote access and equity of services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families.
  • The role will provide outreach at CAMHS community team sites such as Elizabeth, Port Adelaide and Enfield.

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification (please see attached Role Description for further information).
  • Communicate and work with other professionals, facilitate group functions and work as a team member.
  • Clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues, including eating disorders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical work within discipline, including group work.
  • Knowledge of developmental theory and the mental and physical impact of eating disorders on the individual and the family unit.
