About the Role:

The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Medical Practitioner to join our Northern Mental Health Service. This role provides the chance to contribute meaningfully to high‑quality mental health care while developing your clinical expertise within a supportive and dynamic environment.

As a Medical Practitioner, you will play an integral role in delivering safe, patient‑centred care. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you will apply your knowledge and skills to support consumers presenting with complex psychiatric conditions and/or cognitive impairments, including those displaying challenging behaviours. Where appropriate, you will consult with specialist medical providers to ensure accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

You will also actively participate in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives and contribute to education activities within the service.

As per the SA Health Salaried Medical Officers Enterprise Agreement 2025, the total term of employment with SA Health will be 3 years. Rotations following the initial 12 month allocation as Medical Practitioner will be determined in line with your training and SA Health’s requirements. This may include transfer to other SA Health locations to perform work appropriate to classification, skills and capabilities.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
