About the role
As a Radiochemist/Radiopharmacist, you will play a critical role in supporting high-quality nuclear medicine services through the routine production and quality control of radiopharmaceuticals within the RAH Radiopharmacy. Accountable to the Senior Radiochemist, you will prepare specialised PET and SPECT radiopharmaceuticals for patient administration on a daily basis, ensuring products are manufactured safely, accurately and in accordance with regulatory and quality standards. Your work will directly contribute to timely diagnostic imaging and patient care outcomes.
In addition to production responsibilities, you will perform comprehensive radiopharmaceutical quality control testing to ensure all products meet required specifications prior to release. You will work closely with pharmacists, scientists, technologists and multidisciplinary clinical teams in a highly regulated and collaborative environment. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to research initiatives within RAH Radiopharmacy, supporting innovation and continuous improvement in radiopharmaceutical science and clinical practice.

You are a scientifically trained professional with a strong interest in radiopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical practice, bringing precision, reliability and a collaborative mindset to a specialised laboratory environment. With a solid academic foundation and a commitment to safety and quality, you thrive in settings where accuracy and accountability are paramount.

Qualifications & Technical Foundation – Hold a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Bachelor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences, with practical experience working in a laboratory environment and sound knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals or pharmaceuticals.

Quality, Safety & Compliance Knowledge – Demonstrated understanding of the Code of Good Laboratory Practice, Good Manufacturing Practice and Radiation Safety principles, alongside knowledge of EEO and Work Health and Safety requirements.

Communication & Teamwork – Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high level of interpersonal capability. Able to work effectively within a small multidisciplinary team as well as independently under limited supervision.

Performance Under Pressure – Capable of operating efficiently within strict time constraints and high-pressure environments. You demonstrate reliability, consistent attendance and a positive, professional attitude, supported by competent computer and software skills.
