About the role

The Social Worker delivers evidence‑based domestic family violence support through counselling, group work, and outreach. The Social Worker ensures quality psychosocial care, maintains clinical documentation, supports service planning, and drives continuous improvement.

Key duties of the role

  • Provide evidence-based responses to consumers affected by domestic and family violence.
  • Develop and deliver a quality psychosocial health service.
  • Respond to consumer’s risk and safety needs.
  • Contribute to prevention strategies on the health impacts of domestic family violence.
  • Actively promote and contribute to consumer consultation and participation.

Skills and Experience

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Provision of evidence-based interventions to consumers with histories of complex trauma.
  • Demonstrated ability in working with consumers with histories of domestic family violence.
  • Specialist knowledge of gendered based violence, trauma and feminist frameworks.
  • Ability to work with consumers who are vulnerable and impacted by DFV.
