About the Role
As an Administrative Officer – Anatomical Pathology, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality diagnostic service. This diverse position sees you providing comprehensive administrative support to medical, scientific and technical staff, ensuring the smooth coordination of daily operations. Your responsibilities will include maintaining clinical trial and sendaway databases, processing and distributing incoming correspondence, preparing documentation, and contributing to report turnaround times through accurate and efficient typing and data entry.
Working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you will act as a key point of contact for enquiries received in person, by telephone or via email, providing courteous assistance and timely referrals where required. With a strong customer focus, you will communicate respectfully with stakeholders from diverse cultural and social backgrounds while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information. Committed to quality and compliance, you will ensure all work aligns with Work Health and Safety legislation, departmental procedures and accreditation requirements, contributing to continuous improvement and the overall excellence of the Anatomical Pathology service.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring medical audio typing capability, strong administrative experience and a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality and customer service excellence. You are highly organised, professional in your communication and confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Advanced Medical Typist – 70–80 WPM typing speed with 98% accuracy, high-level medical audio typing skills and sound knowledge of medical terminology.

Organised & Deadline Focused – Proven ability to prioritise workloads, manage competing tasks and consistently meet deadlines with precision and efficiency.

Professional & Confidential – Demonstrated experience providing confidential clerical support within a medical environment, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Quality & Systems Savvy – Skilled in computerised information systems, data entry and word processing, with knowledge of Quality Assurance frameworks, WHS requirements and EEO principles.
