Make a Difference: Work Health Administration Officer - Southern Adelaide

Join SA Health as an Administration Officer in Work Health and Injury Management, where you'll provide essential support to healthcare workers recovering from workplace injuries. About the role: 

Reporting to the Advanced Nursing Director, this role is responsible for ensuring the provision of an efficient administrative support for WHS services to meet their legislative and Accreditation Standards. 

Duties for the role will include:

  • Assisting in the implementation of WHS plans, program and strategies which support the strategic priorities of SA Health and the health reform agenda,
  • Contributing to the maintenance of WHS and rehabilitation data bases in accordance with legal requirements,
  • Providing receptionist support with diary and telephone management, mail sorting and distribution, typing of documents, filing, photocopying, record keeping, etc,
  • Provision of secretarial support to WHS Committees, including creation of agendas and minute taking,
  • Providing basic advice on administrative processes relating to workforce health to stakeholders to ensure a coordinated, consistent and equitable approach across SA Health,
  • Maintaining and fostering a positive culture and safe work environment

About you:

  • Good interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all levels of staff and others involved in the claims management process,
  • Proven ability to cope with high volume of work and to prioritise workloads so as to achieve specified deadlines,
  • Commitment to consultation and the ability to work co-operatively as an effective member of a team,
  • Commitment to the concepts of confidentiality, quality, value and service in the provision of WHSIM services,
  • Ability to relate well with staff, clients, their advocates and members of the community,
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to both external and internal customers. 
  • Experience in the provision of administrative support tasks such as Agendas, minutes, correspondence and reports,
  • Demonstrated experience with efficiently using computer-based system, i.e. Microsoft office Word & Excel packages,
  • Direct customer service and experience in an office environment
