About the role
The Director Strategy and Reform leads major initiatives within the Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS), shaping programs and services that improve health, development and wellbeing outcomes for children and families. The role provides strategic leadership for service-wide planning, early years reform, and innovation, driving initiatives that strengthen models of care and service reach.
Working closely with clinical leaders and system partners, the Director Strategy and Reform builds capability across the service to deliver sustainable improvements in quality, innovation, and outcomes.
Key duties of the role
- Lead the collaborative work on the Early Years Strategy, in conjunction with Office for Early Childhood Development, with a focus on increasing the reach of health and development checks for children.
- Ensure that current and evidence based policies, practices, and protocols to support quality performance are consistently adopted across the service.
- Build a culture which is patient/client centred and where patient/client engagement is encouraged.
- Lead service planning, co-ordination, development, and delivery.
- Support the Executive Director Nursing & Midwifery, Consumer Experience, in the development of strategies to identify population health needs, service delivery alignment and the resourcing of clinical services.
Skills and Experience
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse and /or nurse/midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
- Registered Nurse with at least 5 years post registration experience.
- Extensive experience in a clinical or health service leadership role at a senior level.
- Experience in leading quality improvement initiatives in health care settings.
- Knowledge of contemporary change management principles and practices.
