Roxby Downs Health Service

Roxby Downs Health Service is situated approximately 250kms north of Port Augusta. It is a 10 bed (including flex bed) facility. The health service provides an accident and emergency service, as well a general medical, as well has having a wide range of regular visiting outpatient services. About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide person-centred nursing care within a dynamic clinical environment, assessing patient needs and planning, implementing and coordinating care to achieve positive outcomes. You will work with increasing autonomy while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe and effective care. In this role, you will contribute to quality improvement activities, support care coordination, and provide leadership on a shift-by-shift basis as required. You will also play a key role in education and support for patients, carers and staff, while applying evidence-based practice and participating in research activities to enhance care delivery.

 

About You:

  • You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • You must have demonstrated competence in the relevant area of nursing practice in accordance with the appropriate standards of practice.
  • You must have the ability to prioritise workload. and meet set timelines, whilst working under minimal supervision.
  • You must have competency in the delivery of emergency care.
  • You must have worked in minimum staffed units or demonstrated competency as being capable to work in minimally staffed unit.
  • You must have experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
  • You must have current Advanced Life Support credentialling, or willingness to obtain this upon appointment.

Immunisation Risk for this position is - Category A (direct contact with blood or body substances)
