About the role

Join our Medical Imaging team as a Sonographer and help deliver high quality diagnostic ultrasound services within a dynamic healthcare environment. You will perform a broad range of ultrasound procedures using specialised equipment to support accurate diagnosis, patient care and positive clinical outcomes across the health service.

In this role, you will work with a high level of independence while applying advanced professional judgement, technical expertise and innovative scanning techniques across complex examinations. Working closely with radiologists, clinicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, you will contribute to timely diagnosis and support effective treatment planning and patient management.

About You

We are seeking a skilled and professional Sonographer who thrives in a dynamic clinical environment and contributes positively to patient care and team outcomes.

• Accredited Sonographer (ASAR) with a post-graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound

• Demonstrated expertise performing complex and advanced ultrasound procedures

• Strong communication and teamwork skills, adaptable to change and departmental needs

• Knowledge of safety, quality, and medico-legal responsibilities in medical imaging

Statewide Clinical Support Services (SCSS) is a unique public healthcare organisation that serves health consumers and provides specialist clinical services to the health system in South Australia. SCSS encompasses BreastScreen SA, SA Dental, SA Medical Imaging, SA Pathology, and SA Pharmacy.

South Australia Medical Imaging (SAMI) is the largest public imaging provider in Australia! With a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional imaging services provided by a multidisciplinary team, SA Medical Imaging provides care to public and private inpatients, outpatients and emergency department patients.

The RHP has undergone significant redevelopment and refurbishment to turn the site into a thriving health precinct, providing a range of health and wellbeing services. The precinct is now open to the community with a town square, cafés and a playground established for patients, families, and the community to utilise. 

Ultrasound at the RHP provides structured bookings for a wide variety of examinations and predominantly services public outpatients. The medical imaging department is also growing – with building under way as part of a service expansion that includes three more Ultrasound rooms, a new MRI and a second CT.
