Help Children Find Their Voice | Speech Pathologist – Early Childhood, SALHN
Join Southern Adelaide Local Health Network as an Early Childhood Speech Pathologist, based at Marion GP Plus or Noarlunga Health Precinct in Adelaide's south. In this role, you'll assess and support children with speech, language, and communication needs, working alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team to deliver family-centred care. It's an opportunity to build lasting clinical impact within one of South Australia's most respected public health networks.
About the role:
Reporting to the Child Development Service Manager, and the Senior Speech Pathologist, the position is required to provide high-quality Speech Pathology services as part of the SALHN Early Childhood multidisciplinary team.
Duties for the role will include:
- Developing, implementing and evaluating assessment and therapeutic intervention strategies for young children and their families,
- Utilising specialised skills in the clinical management of complex problems regarding young children with developmental delays and differences and their families,
- Reporting on assessment findings to clients, families, referring agents and other agencies as appropriate
- Utilising program evaluation and evidence-based literature for improving programs and service delivery,
- Undertaking relevant training and development activities to meet the changing needs of the position and the profession
- Supervising students
About you:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification with evidence which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia,
- Demonstrated ability and previous experience working with and supporting children up to preschool age and their families, from various cultural backgrounds and often in complex and vulnerable situations,
- Demonstrated ability to critically and reflectively evaluate own work, and maintain own professional development to meet requirements,
- Ability to prioritise and organise a large complex caseload under limited direction
- Be flexible, adaptive and positively responsive to change
