About the Role:
Quality and patient safety sit at the heart of everything the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) delivers. If you're a healthcare quality professional ready to drive meaningful, system-level improvement across a major metropolitan health network, this ongoing full-time role places you at the centre of that work.
What You'll Be Working OnReporting into the NALHN Quality and Safety team, you will support the network's continuous improvement agenda across Lyell McEwin Hospital, Modbury Hospital, and associated community and mental health services. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating accreditation activities against the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards
- Analysing clinical and quality data to identify improvement opportunities and track outcomes
- Facilitating root cause analyses, clinical audits, and structured improvement projects
- Building the quality capability of clinical and non-clinical staff through education and coaching
- Demonstrated experience in a health service quality, patient safety, or clinical governance role
- Working knowledge of the NSQHS Standards and accreditation processes within an Australian health setting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
- Proven ability to engage and influence multidisciplinary teams without direct authority
- Relevant tertiary qualification in health, nursing, allied health, or a related discipline
- Understanding of SA Health policy frameworks and the public health system context
To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate OR
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification, usually in human movements, inclusive of the exercise physiology elective and eligible for accreditation from Exercise Sports Science Australia (ESSA).

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services – adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
Primary Health Care Services – including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
