About the role
As the Senior Pharmacy Technician Service Coordinator, you will take a central leadership role in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality, efficient and patient-focused pharmacy service. You will coordinate and support a team of pharmacy assistants and technicians, intern pharmacists and training pharmacists within your designated area, ensuring workloads are prioritised effectively and services are delivered in a timely and professional manner. You will act as a key point of contact for staff, students and consumers, helping to maintain smooth day-to-day operations and a positive team environment.
Working under the general direction of the Pharmacist responsible for the area, you will oversee practice reviews, staff performance and development, and contribute to the creation, review and teaching of workplace policies and procedures. You will also manage a varied and complex workload, represent the department on hospital and SA Pharmacy committees, and support Pharmacy Manager(s) in delivering safe, cost-effective drug therapy that leads to optimal patient outcomes. This role provides an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise and leadership skills to support workforce capability, service excellence and continuous improvement.
About You
You are an experienced pharmacy technician leader who enjoys supporting teams, improving services and delivering high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Your ability to lead teams, manage workflows, and drive continuous improvement is complemented by excellent communication, organisational and technical skills. You are adaptable, detail-orientated, and dedicated to maintaining safe and effective pharmacy practices.
- Certificate IV or higher in a relevant discipline
- Lead, coach and develop pharmacy support teams
- Extensive experience in a hospital pharmacy setting
- Coordinate workloads and drive service improvement
- Apply strong pharmacy, knowledge of dispensing and distribution, the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and pharmacy management systems
- Build positive relationships across multidisciplinary teams
