Join our Infectious Diseases Team
Deliver expert clinical care across inpatient and outpatient Infectious Diseases services, supporting a diverse and complex patient caseload.
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Unit, this role is integral to inpatient and outpatient care, quality improvements, teaching and research in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology and related fields in Southern Adelaide Local Network in particular at Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Health Services, Repatriation General Hospital and affiliated regional institutions.
Duties for the role will include:
- Providing appropriate specialist level care to patients and coordinating the follow up care of patients.
- Providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers and Medical Students.
- Ensuring the maintenance of comprehensive clinical records which document significant patient management decisions.
- Working harmoniously with all members of the clinical team.
- Being responsive to the expectations and needs of both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
- Ensuring that patients and families are given adequate information upon which to base treatment decisions and follow up
- Participating in programs designed to provide personal growth and development.
- Contributing to the development of an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of our consumers
About you:
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.
- Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Infectious Diseases.
- Recent and extensive clinical experience in Infectious Diseases relevant to the profile of diseases managed in South Australia.
- Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Infectious Diseases.
- Demonstrated professional integrity, leadership and motivational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated participation in approved continuing medical education since attaining specialist qualification.
