About the role
As an Intern Pharmacist, you will undertake a comprehensive practical training program designed to meet the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This program provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of pharmaceutical care while working under the supervision of experienced registered pharmacists. You will actively contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team of professional and non-professional staff, collaborating to deliver high-quality, patient-centred pharmaceutical services.
In this role, you will assist in preparing prescriptions for inpatients, outpatients, and discharged patients, as well as supporting the compounding of pharmaceutical products. You will provide medicines information to healthcare professionals, counsel patients about their drug therapy, and play a key role in ensuring a quality, cost-effective pharmaceutical service. About You
You are an enthusiastic and adaptable pharmacy graduate, eager to develop your skills and contribute to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
- Pharmacy degree or diploma from an accredited School of Pharmacy and provisionally registered (or eligible) with AHPRA
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and respond positively to supervision and feedback
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to use initiative in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Sound knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutic use of medicines, and relevant legislation, with a commitment to safe and effective pharmacy practice
