About the Role:
Lyell McEwin Hospital is a principal referral centre serving one of South Australia's fastest-growing communities, and its Urology team is expanding to match. Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) is now accepting applications for its 2027 Urology Registrar intake — multiple positions available on a full-time, long-term contract through to 30 January 2028.
Your Role in the DepartmentWorking within a busy and well-supported Urology unit, you will contribute to the full breadth of urological care across inpatient, outpatient, and surgical settings. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing clinical assessment and management of urological presentations across the acute and elective spectrum
- Assisting in and independently performing urological procedures under appropriate supervision
- Contributing to ward rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and after-hours on-call cover as rostered
- Engaging in quality improvement, audit activity, and education within the unit
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Practitioner
- Eligibility for, or current enrolment in, a recognised Urology training program (SET or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in a surgical or urology setting at PGY3 or above
- Sound understanding of SA Health clinical governance standards and professional obligations
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a high-volume public hospital environment
- Commitment to culturally safe, patient-centred care aligned with NALHN's community health priorities
To be eligible for this position, you must have
- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
- Registerable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with General Registration

Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services – adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
