About the role: 

Reporting to the Midwifery Unit Manager, this role is responsible for support them through pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal period.

Duties for the role will include:

• Providing primary midwifery care across community and hospital settings — conducting antenatal appointments, attending births as the known midwife, and delivering postnatal follow-up including home visits across Adelaide's southern suburbs
• Managing a personal caseload from booking to discharge, building genuine therapeutic relationships with women and families, and applying evidence-based clinical assessment and individualised care planning at every stage
• Working within a rostered on-call model to ensure your caseload clients have access to their known midwife during labour and birth, requiring flexibility across days, evenings, and weekends
• Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs
• Contributing actively to the quality and sustainability of the Midwifery Group Practice model through participation in case review, practice meetings, and ongoing quality improvement activities

About you:

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
• Holds a current, unrestricted Driver’s License
• Foetal Surveillance Education Program - Level 2
• Maternal Obstetric Multi-professional Training (MOM’s)
• Demonstrated competence in midwifery practice in accordance with the relevant standards.
• Demonstrated competency and proficiency in midwifery practice related to antenatal care, labour and delivery, postnatal care, lactation, and infant feeding.

This is a single vacancy, with two possible appointment classifications. The successful applicants will be appointed in the position appropriate to their skills, qualifications, and experience.
