About the role
The Administration Officer is accountable to the Administrative Manager, Corporate Administrative Services, for the provision of a confidential secretarial, reception, and administrative service to Paediatric Outpatient Services. Tasks include coordinating and managing patient appointments, updating and collecting patient demographics, checking in/out clinic appointments, processing billing orders, processing data integrity reports, and making corrections.
Key duties of the role
- Provide a comprehensive, confidential medical administrative service to Paediatric Outpatient Services
- Ensuring the maintenance of confidential patient Unit Records by accurate filing of reports, results, and tracking to the appropriate departments.
- Continuous Staff Development, including ongoing education & training
- Record Management and support and actively participate in a safe work environment within the department
- Assist in the general efficient and effective running of Paediatric Outpatient Services
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and Teams
- Demonstrated administrative experience in an administrative-type role
- Effective interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation skills, with ability to work under pressure
- Understanding of patient rights, confidentiality, OHSW, Equal Opportunity, Code of Ethics and diversity
