About the role
Looking for a role that combines variety, travel and professional growth? As a Regional Relieving Medical Scientist, you'll provide vital pathology services across SA Pathology's regional laboratories, applying your scientific expertise to deliver accurate, high-quality diagnostic testing that supports patient care across South Australia. Working across multiple disciplines, you'll perform routine diagnostic techniques, contribute to problem solving and reporting, and help introduce new methods and technologies under the guidance of experienced colleagues.
No two weeks are the same in this rewarding role. You'll provide roster support across all 10 regional SA Pathology laboratories, with travel, accommodation and mileage fully covered. Whether you're an experienced Medical Scientist or looking to broaden your skills, you'll receive comprehensive training across all pathology disciplines, enjoy outstanding professional development opportunities—including intra and interstate travel—and may be eligible for relocation assistance in line with relevant guidelines.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality diagnostic pathology services
- Perform routine laboratory testing and result analysis
- Support regional laboratories through roster relief
- Train across multiple pathology disciplines
- Contribute to new methods and continuous improvement
- Maintain quality standards and laboratory equipment
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary laboratory teams
- Travel throughout regional South Australia as required
About You
We're looking for a motivated Medical Scientist who enjoys variety, thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited by the opportunity to support regional communities while continuing to grow professionally.
- Relevant pathology degree recognised under NPAAC requirements
- Laboratory experience with strong diagnostic skills
- Excellent organisation, teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to travel regularly across regional South Australia
