Lead Change. Shape the Future of Healthcare.

Are you a strategic thinker and experienced project leader who thrives on bringing people together, navigating complex challenges and turning ideas into action? This is your opportunity to lead significant projects across a dynamic healthcare environment, influence organisational priorities and contribute to the future of healthcare across southern Adelaide.

About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Strategy & Performance, you will lead the delivery of high-impact projects and programs that support SALHN’s strategic objectives in an environment of significant reform, innovation and continuous change.

Working in partnership with clinical divisions, executive leaders and stakeholders across the organisation, you will bring people together to navigate complex challenges, drive innovation and deliver practical, sustainable improvements to healthcare services.

A key part of the role is growing project management capability across SALHN. Through coaching, mentoring, leadership and the Project Management Community of Practice, you will support project professionals and teams to build their skills, share knowledge and strengthen the organisation’s ability to deliver successful change.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead strategic, high-impact projects and programs that respond to organisational priorities and make a tangible difference to healthcare services and the southern Adelaide community.
  • Drive transformation and service improvement, working across diverse initiatives that may include technology implementation, service redesign and changes to models of care across multiple clinical areas.
  • Build project management capability across SALHN by coaching and mentoring project professionals, supporting the development of the SALHN Project Management Framework and contributing to capability-building initiatives.
  • Champion a strong project management community by fostering collaboration, sharing expertise and supporting the ongoing development of the Project Management Community of Practice.
  • Enable successful and sustainable change through effective planning, stakeholder engagement, change management, project governance and risk management.
  • Build strong partnerships and influence outcomes by working collaboratively with clinical, operational, corporate and executive stakeholders to resolve complex issues and achieve shared objectives.

About you:

You are an experienced project leader who can see the bigger picture, bring people together and translate strategic priorities into action. You are comfortable navigating complexity, building relationships across professional and organisational boundaries, and balancing strategic thinking with a strong focus on delivery.

You are also passionate about developing others. You understand that successful project delivery is not just about plans and processes; it is about building capability, creating shared ownership and helping people lead change with confidence.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex projects or programs, including the implementation of transformational digital solutions, service redesign, operating model changes or improvements to models of care, translating strategic priorities into practical and sustainable outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to coach, mentor and support others to build their project management skills and confidence.
  • Experience in, or a strong commitment to, developing project management capability, improving delivery practices and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Highly developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence, negotiate and navigate complex or sensitive issues with professionalism.
  • Strong judgement and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage risk, establish effective project governance and support informed decision-making.
  • Resilience, adaptability and a collaborative approach, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and work effectively as part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
