Reporting to the Associate Director, Network Management, this critical role ensures the university's network is secure, efficient, and aligned with strategic objectives. This is an exciting time to join La Trobe University as we roll out a new state-of -the art Cisco software-defined network across all campuses. As the Network Infrastructure Manager, you'll shape the future of our network infrastructure, advancing technology-enabled learning and innovation.
About You
To be successful in the role, you will need to have:
- A degree with extensive management expertise, or postgraduate qualifications with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of knowledge and training.
- Solid understanding of enterprise network architecture principles and routing protocols.
- Experience in designing, deploying, optimising and managing wireless networks.
- Proficiency with network virtualization technologies and disaster recovery strategies.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders and manage diverse teams.
- A commitment to diversity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
Essential Criteria
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead a team of network engineers, providing mentorship, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Strategic Thinking and Innovation: Capacity to align network infrastructure with organizational goals while staying abreast of industry trends.
- Staff Performance: Proven experience in managing staff performance and development.
- Network Technologies: Experience with TCP/IP networking, load balancing, network virtualisation, and cloud networking.
- Certifications: Industry-recognised accreditation (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) and basic knowledge of programming languages (preferably Python) and REST APIs.
